7JAP – Roman cookery

Dear All

As I mentioned in our lesson before the holiday – we are focusing on aspects of Roman life in preparation for the Caerleon trip when we get back. As a result, there is an opportunity for you to show off your cookery skills and make a Roman honey cake at home. All the details can be found via the link below:

There are also other┬árecipes listed – please feel free to try one of these. Anything you make can be brought into the lesson on the first Wednesday after half term for us to sample!

Good luck – Mr Drake čÖé

Year 7 trip to Caerleon

Year 7 students are off to Caerleon during June. But why Caerleon?

The fortress at Caerleon was built as a permanent base for one of the thirty Roman Legions scattered across the empire. The Second Legion Augusta, occupied the legionary fortress at Caerleon. It was named after the Emperor Augustus who raised it.
Humanities lessons in term 6 will focus on the Geography, History and RS relating to Caerleon and the impact of the Romans on the Britain.
